Public Theologian | Communications Strategist | Policy Advisor
Welcome! I am a D.C.-based freelance consultant working in the field of religion and politics. My background as a grassroots community organizer has been critical to my work advising candidates, elected and other government officials, as well as faith-based and secular civil society organizations. I hold Masters of Theological Studies from the Divinity School at Duke University with a focus on public, or political, theology in addition to homiletics and rhetoric. My work as a theologian is rooted in the fundamental belief in the inherent goodness of all people, and all of creation, and as such, our policies, organizations, and societal structures must reflect a commitment to the wellbeing, sustenance, and protection of all. Thus, my work as a communications strategist and policy advisor is an extension of a belief in the possibility that societies can be fully committed to the thriving of all of its members.
A large body of my work has been rooted in LGBTQ+ rights and racial justice as a direct manifestation of an ethic of love and justice and a commitment to free democratic societies that uphold the fundamental and holistic rights of all, with a particular emphasis on communities most often forgotten, neglected, abused, and oppressed.
I am one part of a larger ecosystem working in pursuit of the common good — an ethic rooted in the idea that everyone deserves abundance, safety, pleasure, justice, and liberation. Together I believe that we can create communities and societies that reflects the very future we long and hope for — one where everyone is nourished and free.
